Excellent value for money and recommended for travellers in search of simple, yet good and decent, accommodation. With its 2-star rating, the Start Hotel offers guests extremely clean, practical and functional rooms. Unlike some hotels claiming to be "near centre" the Start Hotel really does offer easy and direct access to Krakow's city centre, as well as ample free parking, a generous buffet style continental breakfast (incl. hot dishes), a restaurant and a bar; all of which make for a very attractive and competitive proposition indeed. Krakow's heritage, attractions, and myriad dining facilities are no more than a 10-minute bus ride from the Start, and the bus stop is literally right outside the hotel. The Start's atmosphere is relatively informal but staff are helpful and welcoming, and always ready to assist with suggestions and recommendations. (Guests should note that a local city tax of PLN 1.60 per person per night [apx. EUR 0.40, May '07) is payable directly to the hotel for stays upward of 2 nights. Children 0-5 yrs are exempt).
