When the tallest water tower in Europe was converted into an 11-story deluxe hotel-in-the-round, at a cost of $75 million, one of the most avant-garde and daring reincarnations of an existing structure in all of Germany was born. Even if living in a water tower is not your idea of a good time, check the hotel anyway. It's southwest of the city center, just a mile from the Cathedral. The design and decor are ingenious, from the Warhol paintings to the tiled lobby with stunning dark woodwork. The structure is 19th century, but everything else is contemporary.
The 130-year-old building of the Im Wasserturm Hotel manages to combine classical hotel tradition with modern interior architecture in an extraordinary way. An exclusive, unique and eventful experience with charming and personal service.
Rooms come in unusual configurations, but each is cleverly designed for comfort, flair, and convenience. Original art and exquisite carpeting fill the spacious rooms, and the bathrooms are deluxe, tiled in mosaics and containing such extras as triptych mirrors, robes, and deep tubs with power showers.
The hotel offers the lobby bar “Harry’s Lounge”. Furthermore, the second extension houses the restaurant 'W' with 54 seats and adjacent terrace to the property's own park side. The gourmet restaurant “La Vision” at the 11th floor with 32 seats disposes of a roof terrace with a magnificent view.
